1. Overview
CompsLive provides ready-made competition website solutions designed for content creators, brands, and clubs (“Customer”, “you”, “your” “user”, “users”) who wish to run competitions on an ad hoc basis for their existing audience.
Our service is not intended for customers operating full-time or continuous competition businesses.
2. Services Provided
We provide:
- A hosted competition website
- Setup and configuration services
- Ongoing hosting and maintenance
- Access to a competition management system
- A legal template for competition terms (see Clause 9)
Platform Availability
We aim to provide reliable service but do not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted access
- Error-free operation
- Continuous uptime
We may suspend the Platform for maintenance, upgrades, or technical reasons.
3. Fees and Payment Structure
3.1 Setup Fee
A one-time, non-refundable setup fee is payable prior to the launch of your website. By paying the setup fee, you agree to provide valid payment details for ongoing charges.
3.2 Revenue Share
Instead of a fixed monthly fee, CompsLive charges a percentage of ticket sales generated through your competition website (“Revenue Share”).
- The applicable percentage will be agreed upon in writing prior to onboarding.
- Revenue Share applies to all ticket sales processed via the platform.
3.3 Automatic Billing
By using our services, you authorise CompsLive to automatically charge the payment method provided at onboarding for all applicable fees, including Revenue Share.
- Charges will be calculated monthly based on ticket sales.
- Payments will be automatically collected on or after the 7th day of the following month.
- Example: Revenue generated in April 2026 will be charged on or after 7 May 2026.
- You are responsible for ensuring that your payment details are accurate and up to date at all times.
3.4 Failed or Declined Payments
If a payment attempt is declined or fails for any reason:
- We will automatically retry the payment within a reasonable period.
- You may be notified and required to update your payment details.
If payment remains unsuccessful:
- We reserve the right to suspend or restrict access to your website and services until payment is successfully collected.
- Continued non-payment may result in temporary deactivation of your website, making it inaccessible to users.
- If payment is not resolved within a reasonable timeframe, we reserve the right to terminate your account.
You remain liable for all outstanding amounts incurred prior to suspension or termination.
3.5 Reactivation After Non-Payment
- Your website may be reactivated once all outstanding balances have been paid in full and valid payment details have been provided.
- We reserve the right to require payment of any overdue amounts before restoring service.
4. Customer Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Operate competitions in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction
- Ensure all competition content, prizes, and marketing materials are accurate and lawful
- Provide accurate information required to operate your website
4A. Acceptable Use and Legal Compliance
You agree that you will use the CompsLive platform only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction.
You must not use the platform to:
- Conduct fraudulent, misleading, or deceptive activities
- Promote or operate unlawful competitions or lotteries
- Misrepresent prizes, odds, or terms of entry
- Upload, publish, or distribute any content that is illegal, harmful, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
- Infringe any intellectual property rights, including copyright, trademarks, or proprietary rights of any third party
You are solely responsible for:
- The operation and legality of your competitions
- All content published on your website
- Ensuring compliance with advertising, consumer protection, and gambling laws
- Determining whether licenses or registrations are required
- Drafting legally compliant competition terms
- Prize fulfillment
- Winner selection (even if using our randomisation tools)
- Tax reporting and obligations
- Handling participant disputes
- Complying with advertising standards
CompsLive does not review or approve your competitions, content, or promotions and accepts no responsibility for their legality or accuracy.
CompsLive.co is not liable for any legal breaches committed by Users.
4B. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CompsLive, its directors, employees, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:
- Your use of the platform
- Any competition you operate
- Any breach of these Terms
- Any violation of applicable laws or regulations
- Any infringement of third-party rights
Eligibility
You agree that all competitions you run on the Platform must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have legal capacity to enter into a binding contract
- Operate in compliance with applicable local laws
- Provide accurate and truthful information
We reserve the right to reject or revoke access at our sole discretion.
CompsLive.co accepts no liability for your failure to comply with local law.
CompsLive.co:
- Does not operate competitions
- Is not the promoter of any competition
- Does not hold participant funds as stakeholder
- Does not provide legal advice
You are solely responsible for the competitions you create and operate.
5. Ad Hoc Usage Model
Our service is designed for occasional use. You are not required to run competitions continuously, and no recurring subscription fee applies.
6. Website Inactivity and Archiving
6.1 Inactivity Period
If no competitions are run on your website for a continuous period of 12 months, we reserve the right to archive your website.
6.2 Archiving Process
- Archiving means your website will be taken offline and no longer publicly accessible.
- This is done to avoid ongoing hosting costs for inactive websites.
6.3 Restoration
- You may request restoration of your website at any time.
- Restoration will be provided free of charge.
- Reasonable time may be required to bring the site back online.
7. Suspension and Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if:

- For breach of these Terms
- For suspected unlawful activity
- For non-payment
- To protect platform integrity
Upon termination:

- Access to the Platform will cease
- Outstanding fees remain payable
- We may retain data as required by law
8. Intellectual Property
- CompsLive.co retains ownership of:
- The Platform
- Software
- Branding
- Design elements
- Code and infrastructure
- You retain ownership of your brand, content, and competition materials.
- You grant us a limited license to display your branding solely for the purpose of providing the Service.
9. Legal Template Disclaimer
As part of our service, we provide a template for competition terms and conditions.
- This template is provided for general guidance only.
- It does not constitute legal advice.
- You are solely responsible for ensuring your competition terms comply with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction.
- We accept no liability for any legal issues arising from your use of the template.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
CompsLive.co shall not be liable for:
- Loss of profits
- Loss of revenue
- Loss of data
- Legal claims arising from competitions
- Death or personal injury caused by negligence
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- Regulatory penalties imposed on Users
- Indirect or consequential losses
- Any liability which cannot be excluded under UK law
Our total liability shall not exceed the total fees paid by the User in the preceding 3 months.
We are not liable for:

- Competition-related disputes
- Loss of profits or revenue
- Indirect or consequential losses
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify CompsLive.co against:
- Claims arising from competitions
- Regulatory investigations
- Participant disputes
- Breaches of applicable laws
- Misrepresentation
- Advertising standards violations
Data Protection
We process data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for:
- Lawful data collection
- Providing privacy notices to participants
- Ensuring GDPR or relevant data compliance
CompsLive.co processes personal data in accordance with:
- UK GDPR
- Data Protection Act 2018
Where applicable:
- The User acts as Data Controller
- CompsLive.co acts as Data Processor
You must:
- Provide lawful privacy notices to participants
- Obtain valid consent where required
CompsLive.co acts as a data processor where applicable.
11. No Guarantee of Results
CompsLive.co does not guarantee:
- Sales
- Revenue
- Traffic
- Competition success
- Prize entry volumes
The success of a competition depends solely on your marketing and audience.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of any updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of:
England and Wales
Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction.
